Semis repair the week's damage into the close; long bonds and defensives stay under their 200 day line.

Eighteen names read on the daily candle at Friday's close. Six pass as Enter, five of them semiconductors or large cap technology. Three fall to Exit, every one under its 200 day line rather than overbought. The index itself is a Hold.

Report date: Friday, September 18, 2026. Prices are the closes of that session. US figures in USD, Canadian listings in CAD.

Corrected 2026-09-21. The first version of this page put SHOP.TO in the Exit list. Its 200 day average had been computed from too short a window and had not settled; on the settled number the name sits fractionally above its average and reads Hold. Every average on this page has been recomputed. The correction is described at the end, under Method.

This is a screening report read from daily candles, not a personalized trading instruction.

1Today's September 18 signal breakdown

Each name is read by the FST Classic setup on the daily candle: three conditions, each worth a third. A call needs two of the three to agree. Every condition is printed with the number that passed or failed, so a reading can be checked rather than taken.

Momentum condition disagrees at RSI 64.25

Buy. Two of three. Price 336.13 sits 15.8 percent above its 200 day average of 290.14, and the MACD histogram at 1.603 is above the 0.35 neutral band. The momentum test disagrees: RSI is 64.25, and this setup wants a reading under 30 before it calls momentum a reason to buy. Up 6.1 percent over the last 21 sessions.

Buy. Two of three. Price 665.75 against 621.74, MACD histogram 7.798, the strongest momentum reading in the list. RSI 65.85 disagrees. Up 21.9 percent over 21 sessions, and down 2.4 percent on Friday alone, which is the one to watch: the trend cushion here is 7.1 percent and it was built quickly.

Buy, and only just. Two of three, but the margin is thin enough to name: the MACD histogram is 0.367 against a neutral band of 0.35. That is 0.017 of room. Price 1,015.80 against a 200 day average of 694.63 is the wide part of this reading. RSI 58.28 disagrees. Closed Friday up 3.9 percent.

Rose 2.97 percent on the day the rules read it as an exit

Sell. Two of three, and it is worth reading carefully because the name rose 2.97 percent on Friday. Price 357.61 is 1.9 percent below its 200 day average of 364.62, and the MACD histogram is negative at -0.367. The third condition disagrees: RSI 45.54 is nowhere near the 70 this setup wants before it calls a name overbought. This is a trend and momentum exit, not an overbought one, and it is slow by construction. A single strong session does not move a 200 day average.

Sell. Two of three. Price 81.25 is 4.7 percent under a 200 day average of 85.28, MACD histogram -0.020, RSI 42.85 disagreeing. Consistent with a 10 year yield near 5 percent and a Fed that raised and signalled more (Yahoo Finance).

RSI 34.54 is closer to oversold than overbought and disagrees with the call

Sell. Two of three. Price 30.90 is 5.8 percent under a 200 day average of 32.79, MACD histogram -0.222. RSI is 34.54, which is closer to oversold than to overbought, and it disagrees with the call. Down 4.6 percent on the week. A reader who takes this one should know it is the rules following a downtrend, not a judgement that the name is expensive.

0.01 percent above its 200 day average of 179.32, the closest call on the page

Hold, and the closest call on this page. One of three. Price 179.34 sits 0.01 percent above its 200 day average of 179.32, so the trend condition passes by two cents. The MACD histogram at -2.380 is firmly negative and does not, and RSI 41.07 is neutral. This is the name the correction above is about: on a shorter window the average came out at 179.98 and the same rules read Exit. Two cents is not a conviction either way, and the honest description is a name sitting exactly on its own trend line with momentum against it. Down 11.5 percent over 21 sessions.

Hold. One of three. Price 761.69 is 5.8 percent above the 200 day average of 719.86, so the trend condition passes, but the MACD histogram at -1.163 is under the 0.35 band and RSI 49.18 is neutral. The index is in an uptrend that has stopped accelerating.

Hold, and close to changing. One of three. Trend passes at 721.45 against 668.71. The MACD histogram is 0.071 against the 0.35 band, the nearest any Hold in this list is to flipping.

Price 68.14 is 5.3 percent under the 200 day average of 71.94

Hold. One of three, and it is the mirror of the Holds above: price 68.14 is 5.3 percent under its 200 day average of 71.94, so this name is read on the exit side, and the only condition that passes is a MACD histogram of 0.149. RSI 40.01 is not overbought. Up 2.9 percent on the week.

3What would change it

Each line is the number the name has to cross for its call to change, and how far it is from it today.

8Method

Eighteen symbols, read once each on the daily candle at the close of Friday 2026-09-18, with the FST Classic setup: a 200 day exponential moving average for trend, RSI 14 with a buy threshold of 30 and a sell threshold of 70 for momentum, and MACD 12 26 9 with a neutral band of 0.35. Three conditions, each worth a third of the score, and a call needs two of them to agree. Every price here is a close, every number was computed from the daily candles named beside it, and nothing here was produced by a model.

What was corrected. A 200 day exponential average is seeded with the average of its first 200 closes and then updated, so it needs several times its own period of history before the seed stops showing. The first version of this page was computed from a window that was too short, and the averages it printed had not settled: SHOP.TO came out at 179.98 rather than 179.32, which put its price below the line instead of fractionally above it, and the same rules read Exit rather than Hold. Every average on this page is now computed from a window long enough to settle. One call changed. The others moved by less than a percent and none of them changed side.

Two limits a reader should hold on to. A score of two out of three is exactly that, a count of agreeing conditions and not a probability, and it says nothing about size. And these are long only, trend following rules: they are slow on purpose, they will hold a name through the first part of a fall and leave it after the turn, and they say nothing about what a company is worth.
